Shop Pink 2020

Shop Pink 2020

During the month of October, we teamed up with Hugh Branch: A Family of Farms & Publix to support the American Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF) with a “Shop Pink” campaign to advocate & bring awareness to early detection, support services, & education to fight breast cancer. Throughout October 2020, we included a pink ABCF sticker on our packages of sweet corn (as seen above). Every time one of our packs of corn wearing this sticker was sold, we committed to contribute 5 cents to the American Breast Cancer Foundation. We are excited to announce that this year’s campaign raised a donation in the amount of $20,318.40! Much of this funding will remain local being used at the Moffitt Cancer Center to assist individuals who are uninsured & underserved with breast cancer screenings, education, & support services. Along with the ABCF, we believe that everyone deserves access to diagnostic tests that may detect cancer at its earliest stage.

There were several reasons why we chose to support ABCF & one of those reasons was their local involvement. Our families have personally experienced the benefit of services offered by the ABCF. Additionally, they have a low administrative allocation on the donations given to them, which allows more of the monies raised to go directly towards helping people. Breast cancer is a global burden & is the most common cancer in the world among women. In the United States, breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death for all women. Recognizing these facts promotes us, like many of you, to get involved & make a difference.

Each year, both men & women nationwide receive life-saving services provided by the American Breast Cancer Foundation to aid in the early detection, treatment, & survival of breast cancer. These support programs provide direct assistance grants to reduce the financial barriers of individuals regardless of age, race, or gender. However, these grants are only made possible when businesses, like us, partner with ABCF in support of the endeavor to “Extend the Reach of the Rescue” & help those who have nowhere else to turn.

Thank you for joining us this past October to support the American Breast Cancer Foundation. For ways to help make a difference year-round or to learn more about assistance programs visit www.abcf.org
