Florida’s Most Important Industry

On May 26, 2021, Florida Politics published an article by Drew Wilson conveying the message, “Voters say farming is Florida’s most important industry”. This truth is summed up by a new poll commissioned by the Florida Ag Coalition which found that 98% of Florida voters believe farming and ranching are key cogs in Florida’s economy. While it is clear, the people have spoken, hard data also backs up their viewpoint – “Florida farmers contribute $140 billion a year to the state’s economy and support 2 million jobs.”

In addition, the poll followed up on pandemic approval questioning whether voters approve of “the job Florida Farmers have done during the pandemic in keeping grocery stores supplied with fresh food and vegetables?” The answer was a resounding “yes,” with farmers’ job approval rating coming in at plus-92. Further, 78% of those polled said they “strongly approve” of the job farmers have done during the pandemic.

We are grateful for this article, the poll, and most of all the continued support of our fellow Floridians. To read the full article, click here.
